R&L May Holdings is led by Lee May, an active developer and company builder with over 30 years of construction industry experience.

After spending his school holidays helping out in his uncle’s construction business, Lee left school at 16 to become an apprentice bricklayer. By 21, he was a bricklayer foreman and a year later he’d acquired his first private construction contract. One contract led to another, and by age 29 Lee was employing almost 900 people to meet growing demand from Tier-1 contractors and large-scale developers across the South-East, becoming one of the largest brickwork subcontractors in the region.

In 2016, Lee negotiated the sale for part of his business, a process which sparked his appetite for sales and acquisitions. He began working with numerous small to medium-sized businesses across the construction industry, analysing their financials, infrastructure and client base. Once he had identified the areas where he could add real value, he required equity within the company, working with the Managing and Commercial Directors to drive sustainable, long-term growth for the business.

Over the last six years, R&L May Holdings has successfully acquired an ever-growing client base. We invest time and resources understanding how our businesses operate, taking pride in the relationships we build. It is paramount that we meet the unique needs of each client, aiding the growth of the business, year on year.
